High there! It’s Sunday and you made it Sunday May 3, 2020 and that’s a good thing. It’s 3:00 AM and I am up because we went to sleep early. Yesterday, I met a new neighbor and she is a hairdresser. We hugged. It was the greatest feeling ever! She also cut my hair and gave me one of the best cuts I have had since *Flower, my friend and hairdresser, from San Gabriel last cut my hair over 5 years ago. She and I met when I walked into her salon because the sign advertised $8 haircuts “Walk-In’s Welcome”. That was probably back in the mid 1990’s and we lived in San Gabriel near the 10 Freeway. I used to take the bus then and there was a stop right in front of her shop. I wonder how she is doing now, during this time as she was often overbooked and even only took one week off after the birth of her last child. We had that Stylist-Client relationship that many women and men have. Her and I had children around the same age, she knew my secrets I had many. I knew hers. She had studied in France. I could tell that she should have been giving hair cuts in far better salons than that one on the corner near Mission and Las Tunas for far more than she was charging. Sometimes her sister would pick up our kids from school when my hair was still getting dyed or straightened. She worked hard then, and I can only imagine that she is working hard still, somewhere, secretly making women feel beautiful giving them their weekly shampoo and sets. Sometimes, *Flower was the only other person these ladies would see, besides their transit driver every week.

Here is a little Sunday listening music for ya. Check out that guitar she is playing. Press play…

The Video quality is not the greatest but the song is just…listen…

Anyhow, yesterday, I know I shouldn’t have but I did. My neighbor, cut 5 inches off the back, yes, five! That’s the the average length of a pencil, a sharpened pencil. Get your mind out of the gutter! It is Sunday! Also, for the first time since I was in my twenties, possibly, I have bangs and I love them! My new friend and I both shed a few tears yesterday. She said that has been a normal occurrence among the scared few that are taking her up on her offer of her services. Times are tough and people are “doing what they gotta do.” I don’t know what is right or wrong anymore, but, when she asked me a few weeks ago, she was ready to do it right then and there. I had not had a hair cut in over 8 months, at least. Poor lady…she did a fabulous job by the way. If I could Yelp her I would give her 100 stars!!!! I would have paid her far much more than she charged, because it was far more valuable than money.

Oh, all this hair talk, I promise no more after this. If you have Instagram, go check out @indiaarie . She has lots to say, for women as well men to hear. I got a little full of myself after I sent that message to those nice fellows and sent her a message as well. She has oodles of followers and I mean oodles. NO way she got my message. You know the one about the “I Am Not My Hair”. Well she posted this the day after I sent the message. Universe, are you speaking to me, again…thank you…

The past few days have been busy in the garden and working on Throwing Fire Into the Water. I have a friend that I message on here and we were talking about that short story that I just finished. It is really not complete. It is the first draft. There are quite a few glaring mistakes. One being the name of the psychic. At the beginning of the story I called her Miss Anna. At the end of the story I called her Miss Linn. Well, Miss Linn is the name of the actual one I went to, only once. She really did freak me out. The time jumps are skewed. I would like to develop the characters a wee bit more, just wee bit. The hard part is done though, and I have the road map. Also Cara and Matt, they go from brother to brother-in-law. So, that needs to be fixed. This is another pipe dream, to collaborate with others on a project like this, editing and possibly writing that screen play.

Anyhow, time to get on with our Sunday. I am sure there will be photos of our animals and backyard antics or where ever we end up today.

Thank you for stopping by where ever you are today. Smile and laugh and do that thing, you know, that thang! Hugs to you that is needed it and especially to you that doesn’t.

Five inches. That is a lot. Will the cut help facilitate your Dolly doos? That’s a great song in the video. She’s playing a thin, almost solid body electric nylon string guitar. They need an amp to get much sound out of them but won’t feedback like a regular acoustic guitar. Indiaarie is adorable. Taco-Belle is beautiful. Nice set of photos.

    1. Hi TIm!

Yes, it will definetly help. I still need someone to help me as I have a few physical limitations. However, I think my new friend might be able to help. However, she is booked solid for the next few weeks.
It is a beautiful guitar. I couldn’t make out the make or model of it. She really is lovely. Taco-Belle has been quite the diva this morning. She escaped to go smell the bougainvilleas. That darn cat. Have a great day and stay safe ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow… This post has brought tears to my eyes, seeing that people are more connected when some tiny creatures force them to separate. I too reconnected with some of my old friends. It feels really great. ๐Ÿ™‚

India.arie sings really great. I’ve never thought that I could enjoy that kind of reggae music when the singer was not Bob Marley. ๐Ÿ˜€

And of course I’m looking forward to reading the extended version of Throwing Fire into the Water.

    Have a great day! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hey there friend!
Oh I hope they were happy tears! Yeah doesn’t it feel good. I have been reaching out to random people that I follow on various social media but don’t know personally lately. Today I commented on a post of a pedal steel player from Italy and we had quite a conversation. Made a new friend and the world not so small. He said pedal steel is for insane people. I told him Insane people are my people! I think I will add to my blog…just saying…ha ha!

India is just lovely and she is smart. Her music came to me when I need it and it all her womenly words and wisdom. Glad you like her.

I can’t wait to finish, it’s almost there I can feel it. Have a great day and I will catch up with you soon. Hope you and Madam are have some fun ๐Ÿ™‚ Be Safe.

        Of course they were.

True! The we’re so connected and it’s beautiful. We don’t need to use payphone to talk with people from every corner of the world. The thing is, it depends on each individual to reach out or not.

Wow, cool. Does he play blues with it?

I would never know about india.arie if we never chatted on blog comments ๐Ÿ˜€ Well, again, thanks for writing stuff about cool people and musicians. I’m acquiring tons of new knowledge from you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy composing then. Have a wonderful day for you and your hubby. And stay safe ๐Ÿ™‚

Since electronic communication has gotten so advanced, personal, or human communication has gotten so limited. I think I hug my husband too many times to count per day. He is the only person I see. My poor animals.

Hmmm, not sure, I will have to ask one of those guys, I follow a few guys actually. My son found a guy that play punk rock pedal steel, it was cool. I will have to find that one.

That just made me happy! You have taught me a few things as well. I even threatened hubby by telling him once I get my passport I am planning on backpacking through Asia with or without him! Okay maybe not a backpacking trip but maybe a tour package, safer.

You have a great day. Be safe and have fun.

    Oh yeah.
