Oh happy day! Life is ever changing, that is for sure. Yesterday we got the exciting news that our granddaughter was born on the 4th of July. This is the second child of my daughter and my son-in-law, I can’t wait to get to Michigan to meet her! It doesn’t seem so long ago when I had her and still hard to believe that more than 30 years have passed since that day. More reasons to keep pushing forward with my recovery.
Some quick snaps of the drive to Anza Borego State Park. Part of the land reminded me of an alien planet.
Yesterday we went on a road trip to see Anza Borrego State Park as I wanted to check out the Sky Art Sculptures of artist Ricardo Breceda. However, it was already a 100 degrees when we got there so we only checked out a few of the 130 sculptures that are located near the city of Borrego Springs, California. Do check out the city as there is also a shop where where you can purchase your own metal creatures.
I hadn’t seen these creatures the last time that we were there is much more to be seen like dragons, and other wild life sculptures. He found this really cool scene before we left. It was a group of old West people set up facing each other. It reminded me of shoot-out.
It was a nice trip. The weather was beautiful and we had a clear view of the Salton Sea. We stopped at this one area in the “alien landscape” and I took a few photos. I have a huge fear of heights and was so afraid to go near the edge. Hubby, however, wasn’t afraid and I nervously took some photos of him. My favorite is one of him throwing a rock into the canyon. If you look closely you can see the rock.
I did catch one photo that piqued my interest. I wonder what they were filming? Love that Mustang, it’s a beauty!
We are planning another trip soon, not sure where we will end up but I know I can count on plenty of good road music, talking, laughing and making memories. Can’t wait to sample foods from some gas station out in the middle of nowhere.
You have a beautiful day and thank you for stopping by! Here is to getting to where you are going safely!
