Today, I continue looking for my favorite shots to include for the Pain Project. I have a feeling that I am going to have to put a few on a dart board to pin point my favorite as the folder is getting bigger. So, I have put all the cards in a bowl that I have not reviewed and will pick one out. The winner is card labeled 16. This card has photos of Lele Rose and country cover band South 65. These photos where taken the week of Thanksgiving 2018.

The photos above are of Lele taken on Thanksgiving Day at the Desert Springs Marriott in Palm Desert. The room was crowded and there was no place to sit and watch her at the bar. So, hubby and I did a walk-by with my camera and managed to get one good one. I had met Lele when she messaged me over a year ago to take her photos. Since that first time I met her, I have photographed her least 5 times and have even met her parents! That was truly and honor. Later that evening, we stopped at Fantasy Springs as it was Country Night at Lit Lounge and band South 65 was there. I can tell that we also did just a “drive-by” as I only shot about 25 photos. I remember being too tired and having difficulty walking up those stairs.

This is another band that I follow and have taken plenty of practice shots of them doing their thing. Every time we see them, they never disappoint. The singer keeps the audience laughing and the band keeps the floor full of dancers, at least until the last set. The last set starts around 11 pm and it is on a Thursday night, so yeah, the floor clears up a bit. Hubby and I usually roll in late as because the floor is lighter and the show gets a little looser during their later sets. I am also usually checking out the lighting is timed to the beat of the music or if it is just running randomly. What may look good in the viewfinder does not always translate into a good shot. Too much stage lighting can wash out skin color so you have too make those adjustments. I know there are filters to help with lighting but I am still learning so I am getting better. I can sometimes feel the hampster wheel in my head churning as I am sitting there preparing to shoot. My heart was beating fast just thinking about it.

The next day we were back at the Desert Springs Marriott to see Lele play in the Blue Star Lounge. What a treat! hubby and I got to meet her parents! It was truly an honor.

Next on the card is The Ghost of Kelso at the Indian Wells Country Club. Funny, but I can tell that I must have just grabbed a card (any card) to use because these photos are from a week before my surgery, The Ghosts played a American Cancer Society function. It was a rough night as I remember. The guys had to lug there equipment down this steep walk way. I even carried some equipment. Yeah, another reason to respect musicians for all the behind the scenes stuff that most people don’t get to witness or experience.

By the way, thank you to my subscribers, you guys rock! I just noticed that I have 80 subscribers that are not people I personally know, that is, except for one of my cousins! By the way, thank you Cousin Mike!!! Thank you, all of you! I really don’t push my blog as I am still trying to figure this thing out. All I know is that it truly has helped me. Things have changed since having surgery for CES and so has some of my thinking. I keep reading other posts from other bloggers that tell you how to have a successful blog. I need to be engaging or have a style to attract readers. That’s just not me, I am all over the place and unless I take medication, that is never going to stop.

Still searching for my favorite shots and never imagined it would be this difficult. I am toying with posting my favorite shots of guitar players and drummers, bass players, band shots instead of just posting the band and the night they shot. I have been very fortunate with the bands that hubby and I have seen in these last few years. So, back to my search.

To you dear reader, where ever you are today, thank you for stopping by. Hope to see you again…
